Now That's Some Good Stuff!

Today Makaylee had her first experience with laughing gas, and well, let's just say that it went REALLY well! A few seconds after I finished filming this clip KK said "Mommy, this mask is CoMfY!" I was tempted to ask the dentist if I could get me some of that!

Sunday: Baby, Monday: Big Boy!

Sunday was like any other day with Rowen, he was a little bit sick, he was cuddly, and he was my baby. But Monday Rowen woke up as a BIG BOY! I was doing the dishes, and I was armpit deep in dish water, so I was trying to hurry and finish before I went up to get him. The monitor was right beside me, and I could hear him talking to himself. A few dirty dishes later the direction of his voice snuck right up behind me because my big boy was WALKING down the stairs! He climbed out of his crib for the first time! After breakfast I was so curious that I put him in his crib to see how he did it. He was a total pro and was out in about 3 seconds without even faltering. So, we decided that it was time to convert the crib to a toddler bed. It was kind of a sad moment for me. I can't believe how fast he is growing up!

This picture was taken about a week ago, (in the pitch black, that is why it is so fuzzy, I couldn't hold my camera still enough for the whole minute the shutter was open!)

And here is my big guy in his toddler bed!

(Well, he doesn't seem so big when he is laying next to his 5 year old sister!)

To top the day off, Rowen came into the kitchen and announced "POTTY!" I figured that he was just starting to get curious about the potty, as he sees us come in and go out of the restroom. So, I brought him into the bathroom, set him down on the toilet and surprise! He went Poop on the potty! (Sorry, too much info!) But I was so shocked! I had no idea that he knew what happened on the toilet!

I feel like I entered a whole new dimension of motherhood, with two big kids, and no babies! What a weird and exciting day!

KK's Quotes for Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! I thought today would be a great day for me to share some of the funny quotes that Makaylee has said about Mothers (me) lately. They range from sweet to sassy, just like my dear daughter!

We were having a little argument (nothing unusual) about something silly. I told her that she needed to do something and she said "WHY?!"

(me) "Because I am the Mom, and I said so!" (I never thought I would really ever use this line, but I do. . .FREQUENTLY.)

(her) "WELL, When I am the Mom, you are going to grow up to be the little girl, and then I am going to tell YOU what to do!!"

Really, how do you even respond to that? All I could do was laugh!

"Mommy, I hope you never get old, because you look pretty how you are now!" (Yikes, me too!)

And, last but not least: While I was tucking her in tonight she was starting to get grumpy with me. I reminded her, "You are supposed to be nice to me today, because it's Mother's Day." Her reply (read with a whiny accent) "But MOM, it's aLmOsT over!" (As if ONE day a year is just too much to ask for a child to be nice to their mother!)

Race For The Cure!

This morning Terry, me, and my friends Sonya, and Glow ran the Race for the Cure 5K. It was an amazing and emotional experience, and I am so thankful that I got to be a part of it! Over $255,00.00 was raised to help find the cure for Breast Cancer!

Terry and I at the start line.

With 17,000 of our closest friends!

3.2 miles, and 32 minutes later, we crossed the finish line! As we were rounding the last corner we saw 4 darling older ladies in their Survivor shirts holding hands, and as we ran past them they shouted to us "Thanks for running for us!" It was so sweet!

Sonya, Glow, and me, taking advantage of the free breakfast afterwards!

Wicked - Defying Gravity

Terry and I got the chance to go to Wicked in April . It was AmAzInG! Terry even admitted that it was worth the price of the tickets, (and for him that is saying a lot!) If you ever get the chance to go, RUN, don't walk! You won't regret it!
